Shopping
Bosnia & Herzegovina is indeed an interesting place to shop. If you’re looking for a fine cultural blend the country offers a vast variety of markets and diverse local gifts, such as woodcarvings, leather goods, jewelry, ceramics, brass coffee-pots, handmade carpets, woolen items, wines, folk-art, tapestries, embroidery and carved boxes. While larger cities offer modern shopping centers (on a modest scale), most towns and cities in the country have open-air markets and fairs where artisans, sellers, and dealers offer miscellaneous products of all kind. Bargaining is acceptable in most markets and expect inflated prices if you are a foreigner. Bring a Bosnia4u specialist with you to help get a better deal. Compared to Europe or Dubai, Bosnia is fairly inexpensive so you might be able to find some bargains. Outside the capital, famous shopping centers include Visoko and the central Bosnian region, which are well known for leather goods. Some shopping centers are:
- Sarajevo City Center (2014) 160 stores
- BBI Center Sarajevo (2010) 125 stores
- Alta Shopping Center Sarajevo (2011) 70 stores
- Importanne Center Sarejevo (2010) 35 stores’
- Bezistan (1551), traditional bazaar in Baščaršija, Sarajevo
