Veliki Movran is a unique attraction, the largest waterfall in the region, 584 meters high, and it can only be seen after heavy rains. It is located in Drežnica, a small town between Mostar and Jablanica, which is full of untouched nature and breathtaking beauty.

Veliki Movran is certainly the highest waterfall in our country and region, and among the highest in Europe. According to many, it is 584 meters high, its starting point is 1,383 meters above sea level, and the final point is 799 meters above sea level. Others say that the waterfall is 395 meters high, but it all depends on the method of calculation and the category in which this natural attraction is classified.

Movran is not a permanent waterfall. Few can see it and, looking at the southern rocks of the formidable Čvrsnica, witness a beauty that is difficult to describe. Veliki Movran is actually a huge siphon in which water collects all year round, so that during the heaviest rains, when the mountain gap is completely filled, Movran explodes and flashes before the eyes of observers.

As you can see Movran usually only once a season, after heavy rains, then it is necessary to plan a “hunt” for it. A unique scene can only last for a few hours, so that information should also be taken into account when planning the search.
