National Park Drina is the youngest national park and new protected nature area in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded in 2017. This National Park is located in the territory of the municipality of Srebrenica and covers an area of 6,315.32 hectares. It is located on the other side of the Drina in relation to Tara National Park in Serbia.

NP Drina is the third in the category of a national park in the Republic of Srpska, after Sutjeska and Kozara. It extends to the left bank of the Drina river, from the dam in Perućac to the border with the municipalities of Rogatica and Višegrad.

The basic values of the NP Drina are habitats of endemic and relict plant species, above all Pančić’s Spruce and the ravine-canyon valley of the Drina River and its tributaries. This area constitutes a unique complex, that is, a part of the Dinaric Starovlaško-Raška highlands. Particularly important animal species are brown bear, chamois and golden eagle.

The gorge — canyon valley of the Drina is most pronounced at the mouth of Crni Potok (Black Creek), where the maximum depth of the canyon is 976 meters.

In the area of this park there is Skelani Archaeological Site spread over several localities. It has been declared a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and consists of Roman settlement, two early Christian basilicas, graves within it and movable finds located in the National Museum in Sarajevo and the Archaeological Museum “Roman Municipality” in Skelani.
