The Catholic Church in Bosnia & Herzegovina is part of the worldwide Catholic Church. Christianity arrived in Bosnia & Herzegovina during the 1st century. Saint Paul wrote in his Epistle to the Romans that he had brought the Gospel of Christ to Illyria. In 11th century Diocese of Bosnia was established, between 1060 and 1075. Up to the Ottoman conquest the Croat Catholics made up the majority of the Bosnian population. The Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina has one province: Sarajevo. There are one archdiocese and 3 dioceses. There are two Franciscan provinces.
