Green Destinations, a non-profit foundation for sustainable destination development and recognition, in its annual list of innovative and effective Good Practice Stories from 100 destinations inspiring responsible tourism leadership globally – Top 100 Stories, awarded the first place for 2022 to the city of Trebinje in the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The organization selects and awards destinations are working hard and making progress towards a more sustainable tourism industry while creating a more attractive experience for local communities and travelers. Their stories are shared with others to be used as inspiring examples. Since 2014, every year (with the exception of 2015), Green Destinations is proud to reward 100 destinations for their efforts and put them in the spotlight on a global scale. This year city of Trebinje won the first place for founding the Herzeg House to better integrate local gastronomy products in tourism sector.
